Slingshot
For tier-two and tier-three rail and engineering contractors.

The supplier the tier above picks first.

Slingshot helps rail and engineering SMEs become the supplier the tier above picks first, by keeping RISQS evidence, tender packs and competence records current on one system your own people sign off, so nobody rebuilds the audit pack by hand each year.

    Work with Rob!

I've worked with Rob a few times now and can highly recommend! He's a lovely down to earth guy and really takes the time to understand what it is you need and how he can offer tailored help to support that! I'm also a designer so we have worked together on a couple of projects and can also recommend him as a good partner to do work with, good communication, feedback, timely - all the good stuff basically.

    Amazing service.

Robert went above and beyond the call of duty when it came to designing and getting my sons racing website up and running. With very little to go on he designed and produced a fantastic site. All aspects required were well covered and all pages linked perfectly. Couldn't be happier with the service and after service recieved. Will continue to recommend to anyone looking for a website

    Slingshot are great

Slingshot are great, they manage social media for us and take care of posting content. What I like is that they'll work with us to generate content for social media which we've struggled with in the past. Nothing is too much trouble.

The people behind Slingshot

Two people met the same problem from opposite ends. Antony Kearns spent thirty years leading transportation and engineering businesses, watching good firms carry the same repeatable work by hand. Miller Glenholmes came at it from the build side, shipping the systems that take that work off people.

The problem

Your accreditation stack is the most commercial thing you own, and it lives in a folder.

A firm below Tier 1 sells to the tier above it. That buyer vets you on evidence, and the evidence is scattered across a shared drive, a spreadsheet and one person’s memory. None of this is a lead problem. It is the same five jobs done by hand every year.

RISQSThe annual audit pack rebuilt from last year's folder, every year, by the one person who knows where everything is.
SentinelCard expiries tracked on a spreadsheet, found out about on the morning of the possession.
PQQThe same prequalification answers typed out again for every buyer, with last quarter's certificates attached.
TenderA submission scored on evidence, assembled under the deadline from wherever the evidence last got saved.
VettingA Tier 1 estimator checking your site the week before the award and finding a downloads page of dead links.
The fix

The AI Readiness and Compliance Audit.

Paid work with a written output you keep. We go through the four things the tier above checks, score each one on how the firm actually runs it today, and hand back the order to fix them in. Where a system earns its place, the audit says so and says what it would carry. Where a spreadsheet is fine, it says that too.

Then, if it is a fit, we build it: the dashboard your team runs the records on, and the agents that draft the repeatable work behind a human gate. You see every step in the same dashboard, and the build starts from the audit, not from a blank brief.

Nothing sends, publishes, spends or replaces work without your explicit approval.

01Prequalification evidenceWhere the certificates, policies and insurances live, what is current, what a buyer can reach without asking.
02Competence recordsHow Sentinel, PTS and training expiries are tracked, who gets told, and how long before the date.
03Tender productionHow a submission gets built, what gets retyped each time, and where the hours actually go.
04The shop windowWhat a Tier 1 estimator sees when they vet you online, and whether it matches the firm you are.
Where your data sits
Encrypted credentials

Logins and keys sit in server-side configuration, encrypted at rest by the host, and never reach a browser or a page.

Role-based access

Every user has a role. A client login sees the client side and nothing of the operator side, and the database enforces that, not the screen.

Row-level scoping

Every record carries the firm it belongs to. One firm’s data is never returned in another firm’s view.

Audit trail on every action

Each approval is written to a log with who, what and when. The log is append only: nobody, including us, can edit or delete a line.

Your IT provider is welcome on the first call. In this sector they are usually the person who has to say yes, and we would rather answer them early.

The dashboard

The operating layer, live.

One surface for leads, pipeline and reporting. Press play and watch it run.

Before the call

Tell us what you are carrying.

Three capacity questions and a box for the thing that is keeping you up. No revenue question, because the size of this job is frameworks, tenders and people, not turnover.

Send it, pick a slot, and the 30 minutes go on your firm rather than on the basics. If it is not a fit we say so on the call.

Skip the form and book straight in

Before the call, three questions on capacity.

No revenue question. Frameworks, tender volume and headcount tell us the size of the job, and the fee follows from that on the call.

The three capacity questions

Accreditations you hold today

Straight answers

What we do, and what we do not.

Do you guarantee tender wins?

No. We do not guarantee tender wins. A tender is scored by a panel against your price, your method, your safety record and the evidence attached, and none of that is ours to promise.

What we do is make sure the evidence exists, is current and is where the bid team can reach it on the day, so a submission is never weakened by admin. The outcome we work to is the supplier the tier above picks first, not a count of wins.

Will you write or sign off our technical content?

No. Slingshot writes the copy and builds the pages and the systems. A chartered engineer at your firm owns anything technical and puts their name on it. We do not produce engineering deliverables, we do not act as principal designer or principal contractor, and we will not imply that we do.

Can the agents run without someone at our end checking?

No, and we will not build it that way. Nothing sends, publishes, spends or replaces work without your explicit approval. Agents research, draft and check. A named person at your firm approves, and that approval is written to a log the database will not let anyone edit or delete.

Will this get us onto a framework or the RISQS register?

No. Framework places and prequalification are decided by the scheme and the buyer, and no website or dashboard puts you on one. What the work does is stop you losing credibility at the exact moment a Tier 1 estimator vets you online before an award, and stop the annual audit pack being rebuilt by hand.

What does the audit cost?

It depends on what it has to cover: how many frameworks you are live on, how many tenders you submit a quarter and how many people the records have to track. That is why the form asks those three things and never asks your revenue. You get the figure on the call, in writing afterwards, and it does not move once we shake on it.

What happens on the call?

Thirty minutes. First we learn how you run prequalification, tenders and competence records today. Then what is working, what is not, and where the hours are going. Then, if it reads like a fit, we walk through what the audit would look at and agree the fee. If it is not a fit we say so on the call. You pick the slot yourself against the real diary, so nothing gets booked into a gap that was never there.

Who can see our data?

Your people, by role, and nobody else. Credentials sit server-side and never reach a browser. A client login sees only that client’s records. Every approval is logged with who, what and when. If your IT provider wants to ask the security questions before anything starts, that is the right order and we will take the call.

Not ready for the audit yet?

Two free reads, no sales call attached. The Board AI Readiness Score is seven questions and one number a board understands. The AI Advantage read is six boxes on how the firm runs, with the result yours to keep. Either one is a fair place to start.

Next step

Find out what the tier above sees when they vet you.

Thirty minutes, booked against the real diary. You leave with a clear read on whether the audit is worth doing, and the fee if it is.
